Jay Glubb grew up in West Auckland and despite having plenty of opportunities, he didn’t feel content with life there and decided to leave the city life behind. Eventually settling in Dunedin, he found that his dis-content continued, and he struggled to find his direction in life. Realising that moving cities was not going to resolve his problems, he was searching for ways to find more happiness and vitality when he was introduced to Qigong by a local teacher. A passion was born to help himself elevate his life, so that he could go on to help others.

Qigong, which is similar to Tai Chi, combines meditative movements, breathing and mind activities. While it is still relatively new in New Zealand, qigong has been practiced for centuries across Asia and is renowned for providing a wide range of health benefits. Yuan Gong Qigong is a new and modernised version of the ancient art of Qigong designed by Wellington based Qigong master Yuan Tze.

Through Jay’s practice of qigong, he experienced a dramatic transformation in his mental clarity, focus and emotional wellbeing. He was so impressed with the results that in 2006 he began qigong teacher training.

Twelve years on, Jay now teaches online through a Facebook channel 'Chi-TV’, he has taught and organised various events across New Zealand, and been a guest speaker at events along the West coast of the USA.

Jay is looking forward to returning to his former home of West Auckland, to help run several events aimed at offering these teachings to Aucklander’s. On Thursday 15th of March, 7pm at 9 Bernleigh Terrace, West Harbour. Jay will first give a short introductory talk on Yuan Gong Qi Gong before facilitating a group healing.

To reserve your place please text or call Dorrie van Roij on 021 1517 197.

For a more comprehensive introduction to Yuan gong Qigong & how it can benefit your life; Jay and other Qigong teachers from around the country will be holding a three-day retreat held at West Auckland’s Bella Rakha Retreat Centre, from Friday 23rd – Sunday 25th March.

“Our aim is to teach people tools that they can use in daily life to reduce stress, create better mind/body awareness and improve their overall wellbeing. The movements are flowing, easy to learn and very relaxing.”

“This event is a great opportunity for people new to qigong to receive full instructions and plenty of support,” says Jay.

Jay invites people who are interested in beginning or deepening their journey for transformation, to find out more or register for the retreat on the link above.
