We are fundraising for a German class of the Hamilton Boys High School to enable some more students to fly to Germany for their field trip this year in September.

This cinema screening is organised in conjunction with the Waikato Goethe Society and proceeds will go towards the fundraiser organised by tutors and parents of the boys.

The film is German with English subtitles.

Lessons of a Dream (German: Der ganz große Traum) is a German drama film directed by Sebastian Grobler, loosely based on the life of German football pioneer Konrad Koch in the late 19th-century. In the film, Koch is one of the first English teachers in the German Empire, in Braunschweig. He introduces his students to the new sport of football, completely unknown outside of England at the time, to get them interested in English culture and the English language. Koch's liberal teaching methods upset his conservative colleagues, the student's parents, and local dignitaries.

Tickets are pre-purchase on Eventfinda only. Only if there are some left in the end, the remaining ones will be door sales on the night.

Ticket price of $16 includes entry to the film for one person, a can of soft drink, a small bag of chips and a chocolate bar, which will all be handed out prior to entry into the cinema on the night by the boys.
