As founder and owner, you face the daily battle of growing and scaling your business. Your emotions will swing from despair to elation as you hurdle the challenges thrown at you. Some days you will question whether it's all worth it and whether you can keep going.

So, how do you pick yourself up from the crush of a broken dream, reset your mind and body and turn despair into triumph?

Recognised as one of the world's best triathletes, Hamish Carter suffered tragic defeat in the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games and yet through sheer hard work and determination rose to claim a gold medal in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

Join us for breakfast at The Common on Wednesday 7 March & learn from the Master himself.

If you've had a good year or a bad year, use this to reset yourself for the new financial year ahead.

Motivational and inspiring speaker Hamish Carter is one of the world's most prominent triathletes over the last decade.

With his breakthrough 3rd placing in the 1993 ITU World Championships, Hamish has rarely finished outside the top ten in any race he has competed in. A remarkable feat in any sport. A consistent performer – his success as a triathlete is not based on any one single standout performance, but rather a persistent dedication that has kept him ranked among the top triathletes in the world, if not at the top, over the past few years.

The Aucklander held the world number one ranking when he arrived in Sydney in 2000 to contest the first Olympic triathlon. He had a shocker of a race, trailing home 26th, more than two-and-a-half minutes behind the winner, Canadian Simon Whitfield. He realised he had made a hash of his Olympic campaign and vowed that, if given another opportunity, he would not make the same mistake again.

Hamish demonstrated that he has lost none of his drive with a hard-earned bronze medal at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester and a victory in the 2002 Oceania Championships.

In 2004, Hamish won the Men's Triathlon Gold Medal in Athens. Hamish won the three-discipline event in 1 hour 51 minutes and 7.73 seconds. His teammate Bevan Docherty won the silver 7.87 seconds behind while the bronze went to Swiss Sven Riederer, who finished 25.53 seconds after Hamish.

Hamish was awarded Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the New Year Honours list of 2004/2005.

Hamish worked for Lion Nathan where he specialised in training the sales teams. He is a dynamic and engaging presenter.

Ticket price includes a light breakfast & a chance to mix & mingle with other Entrepreneurs & Business Owners (Including Hamish) after the breakfast speech.

Meet at the Common at 7.00am for breakfast for a 7.30am start.
