Born in the desert town of Santa Fe, New Mexico and raised in the Southern mountain range town of Arrowtown, Holly Arrowsmith is a singer-songwriter on the rise locally and internationally for her honest, raw take on observational lyricism and folk revivalist musical style.

With sound comparisons to the likes of Joni Mitchell, Laura Marling, Tiny Ruins, Bob Dylan, her music touches upon earnest matters of life, often wrapped up in metaphors of nature and the soothing mountain environment that surrounds the Wakatipu Basin.

Her debut album For The Weary Traveller won her a New Zealand Music Award in 2016 for Best Folk Album. Now two years on, Arrowsmith (24 years of age) is getting ready to release her long-awaited second album A Dawn I Remember on June 22. The new nine track album (which includes ‘Farewell’ and ‘Love Together’) was created with a hearty groundswell of 335 Kickstarter backers who raised over $24,000 to support the project.

Come and celebrate the first showcase of the album with a hometown show at the Sherwood this winter. Holly will be performing a special intimate solo set with accompaniment. This is one not to be missed!
