HopeWalk is a movement to bring greater awareness around the issue of suicide, while promoting prevention.

The HopeWalk movement was started by Joseph Fa'afui in Sth Auckland, NZ in 2015. Seeing this inspired the dream of a similar community walk here in Palmerston North. An inclusive, supportive, connecting place to step out of the shadows and truly stand together as community. This will be the second walk to be held here in the Manawatū.

Our goal is to support, network and promote the local agencies working in the field of Mental Health - making awareness of these prevention services and ongoing support more well known within our community. The hope is that we can support one another with this knowledge, and not leave this some times overwhelming task to those most in need.

We'll walk 3km together through the beautiful Victoria Esplanade and Bridle Track. #StandingTogether for our friends and loved ones, making us #StrongerTogether as a community.

Where to meet: Victoria Esplanade.
(Near the miniature railway/overlooking the Lido).
Parking: Available within the park or near the entrance on Park Road.

*Wearing HopeWalk yellow is optional, but does unify us and makes a real visual impact.
