Lighting Our Ancestral Pathways - 7 - 8pm:
This is a magical ceremony beginning in Dowse Square, with live music, performers, illuminated bike floats and film projections. Bring the light of your life! Illuminated lanterns made at Lucid DreamBike lantern workshops can be collected by their makers and hung along the pathway.

The lanterns represent loved ones whom we carry with us in our hearts. Musicians and performers will lead people beneath beautiful bamboo structures and through the large community labyrinth made by Tape Art NZ and Hutt communities.

Community Labyrinth - 10am - 7pm Friday 17 and 2.00 - 10pm Saturday 18 August
A large scale, colourful, intricate and walkable labyrinth will be installed in Dowse Square alongside Lighting Our Ancestral Pathways.

Led by Tape Art NZ, the labyrinth is taped and painted on recycled PVC with the artistic collaboration of local Hutt groups during workshops throughout the Hutt. The labyrinth encourages you to interact with the rich variety of artistic contributions, and as you journey through the winding path you may discover a sense of renewal and elation. The artists will be on site with the labyrinth to answer any questions.

Stage - 8 - 10pm
Our Hutt Winter Festival stage opens for a night of entertainment from local musicians and performers. The winners of Pimp My Jacket fashion show and Hutt's Got Talent will perform, along with Sianne Dogherty and Grove Roots, 50 Eleven and the wonderful Whenua Patuwai with soul classics and his own sounds.

Wet Weather
The Illuminated Bike Parade and labyrinth will go ahead rain or shine! The stage and some events will be held inside The Dowse and Town Hall if it's wet or too windy, so we'll be warm and dry. Check the Hutt Winter Festival Facebook page for updates.

There will be plenty of food from the food trucks parked up alongside Dowse Square and the two on site venues. Bellbird Café and The Crooked Elm.

The event will be broadcast Live on Atiawa Toa FM.
