This - limited attendants - workshop introduces you to the Kamele N'goni from West Africa, bringing African music to life in New Zealand.

The workshop covers a short history of the Kamele N'goni and the areas of its its origin. Also the different tuning, for various techniques that can be practised.

By the end of this workshop you will be able gain an appreciation and play some of what the Kamele N'goni (African Harp) instrument will sound like and how easy it is to learn to play. Personal note you can't make mistakes with this instrument, it all sounds great to play.

We will be teaching several Kamele N'goni musical patterns (Grooves) Ostinato, along with some simple percussion to fit with each melody. At the end of the workshop we will play together as a group, getting the feel of how a group sounds together.

Information will be available on how to obtain you own Kamele N'goni in New Zealand. http://www.jeremycloake.com. Bring good reliable writing tools.

If you have your own Kamele N'goni, your are welcome to attend the workshop - less the cost of hiring an N'goni for the duration of the workshop.

Only "5" Kamele N'goni are available for hire.
