Each week Moon Under Water teams up with a local organization doing good work in the community - every cent of the Karma Koha you pay for a pint of delicious Eagle beer goes to a chosen charity. This week it is Camp Purple.

Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis are chronic autoimmune diseases that affect the digestive system, collectively known as Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Both cause debilitating pain, hospitalisations, repeat surgeries and a severely reduced quality of life. New Zealand has the highest incidence rate of IBD in the world. Despite this IBD remains a closet disease, shrouded in silence and relatively unknown.

Dealing with IBD as a child is extremely challenging. It means missed school days, hospitalisations, and, often, social isolation. Camp Purple is run by Crohn’s & Colitis NZ and provides an opportunity where campers can interact with other kids facing similar challenges and are not made to feel different because of their disease.

The camp will be held in Christchurch in January 2019 and we are in dire need of funding... Please help us make the camp a reality for as many children and teens as possible by heading down to Moon Under Water 3-5pm Saturday November 3rd.
