Originally a local Lower Hutt lass, Silvana Jakich has called New York City home for the past 17 years. She has written and directed feature films, shorts and plays in the Big Apple and is part of the vibrant writing community of the inner city.

Silvana also works with a production company in Germany which has optioned her co-written screenplay. Lieblings Film invited Silvana to be part of the rewrites team in Berlin in 2017 and they’re now translating the script into German.

Recently Silvana took a screenwriting course with the infamous Robert McKee in Austin, Texas to deepen her understanding of screenplay structure. McKee was a fountain of knowledge and studying with him took Silvana’s work to another level.

While Silvana is back in Lower Hutt scouting locations for a film, she would love to connect with other local writers and share some tips in this session!
