Art and Easter - Mangawhai is the place to relax, refresh, enjoy art and the creativity that abounds in our community.

The Mangawhai Artists Art Trail will be an opportunity to enjoy weekend life in Mangawhai along with a large dose of creativity. You will be able to see a huge range of art and visit artists’ studios. There are 19 venues including artist studios, the Heritage Church by Mangawhai Museum, Bennett’s cafe and Mangawhai Artists Gallery to visit with well over 50 artists showing their work.

During the Easter weekend, artists open their studios which are always intriguing and revealing. This is an opportunity to see behind the scenes and marvel at how artists produce their work. Artists will be on hand to talk about their art and answer your questions. Mark the dates off now – Easter Saturday 31 March and Easter Sunday 1 April, from 10am to 4pm.

The Art Trail is free and the guide book is $5. The guide book is packed with illustrations and information on the artists and their art as well as a map to help you plan your route around the venues. The guide booklet will be available from Mangawhai Artists Gallery and other venues in the Village and Mangawhai Heads shops.

The Art Trail offers an opportunity to buy art direct from the artists – cash and carry. There are 19 venues in and around Mangawhai. Some artists are also exhibiting in the Members’ Exhibition; you can see their work in the Gallery and look out for them on the Art Trail.

Bill boards are up – look out for the dancing art figure and exclamation mark. You will be guided around the Trail by bold signs with the dancing art figure.
