The Faculty of Architecture and Design at Victoria University of Wellington is hosting two free public exhibitions in The Atrium which showcase New Zealand's strengths in design and innovation.

Design Generation:
“Design Generation” was curated by Michael Smythe on behalf of Objectspace in Auckland earlier this year. It features five decades of creative works from Peter Haythornthwaite, widely regarded as one of New Zealand’s most influential industrial designers.

Victoria University brings “Design Generation” to Wellington as a celebration of design and to acknowledge Peter Haythornthwaite’s role as Adjunct Professor to the University's School of Design, his Honorary Doctorate and Order of Merit for services to design and business enterprise in New Zealand.

Future Design Generation:
“Future Design Generation” features a range of technologies, manufactured products and prototypes produced by staff and students from Victoria University, as well as our partners in the Wellington region and internationally.

The exhibition reflects themes such as smart health device technologies, intelligent cities, distributed clean energy, the 4D printing empowered university, digital technologies for indigenous communities and design for scientific instrumentation.

Open 9am–4pm daily.
