Success in study can be experienced by everyone. You just need to know what to do!

There isn’t a magic wand, though. If you are serious about learning and want to gain the most out of your classes, lectures and personal research, then this course will help you set yourself up for success.

Course outline:
Getting ready to study: Introduction, approaches to study and memory tasks, understanding how memory works and why this affects how you memorise, tips for organisation and motivation.

Preparing what you need to know: What do I need to do with my study notes? Which style of input works best for me? A step-by-step guide to strategies that work, tips for success and practice.

Making information Memorable: How can I remember all of this? Recall tips, the Forgetting Curve, graphic organisers and 9 key memory strategies; participants will work on practising these in this course.

Putting it all into practice: How to overcome anxiety and get mentally prepared for tests. What to look out for and how to approach different types of questions.

Expected course outcomes:
- You'll know how to prepare yourself for study
- How to make sure you have useful information,
- How to make information memorable for you so that you can recall it later
- How to ready yourself for test situations.

University or senior high school students wanting to develop effective study skills and exam techniques.
