Do you have a sense of Rhythm, do you like to make a noise then this is for you.
Taiko Drumming is a traditional Japanese style. It is dramatic physical & did I mention loud!
WaiTaiko is a group as the name suggests based in the Waikato.
Ken & Mike will instruct you in this ancient art, their enthusiasm will infect you & you will become immersed in these hypnotic Rhythms.
It may take a day or two for the smiles to leave your face, it's that much FUN!
The Drums are not small, so to be tall enough to play comfortably you will need to be at least 12 years old.
The workshop is in 2 sessions with a lunch break at noon.
The Workshop finishes at 3.00 we then invite you to join us Mosaic Choir & WaiTaiko Drums in a concert from 4.00 - 5.00 pm at Raglan's Town Hall in Bow St.
The concert consists of segments of choral singing, drumming & a combined number that is sure to raise the roof.
The concert is free entry to workshop participants. The public is a nominal door charge see our Posters for details.
