If you’ve seen any production at Pop-up Globe, you’ll know that, as in Shakespeare’s day, every performance finishes with a rousing jig. The jig is a vital part of cleansing the stage at the end of the play, bringing the actors together in harmony, and uniting the actors and the audience to celebrate the play they have just experienced together.

Pop-up Globe’s Movement Director Brigid Costello has created eight different jigs for our productions over the past year and in this special workshop, she will take attendees through the jig that ends our current production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, with its unique combining of Renaissance dance, tikanga Māori and modern movement.

Places are limited so book your tickets now, and please wear comfortable clothes you can move in on the day. This is an all-ages and abilities workshop, so grab your kids, partners, grandparents, family and friends and join us onstage to dance the jig!
