Under the baton of David Bremner (principal trombone NZSO, conductor of Wellington Brass, the champion band of New Zealand), the 2018 National Youth Brass Band presents "History - a celebration of 200 years of brass music and its influences." With this wide-ranging theme the programme will not doubt included something for everyone to enjoy. Guest soloist with the band is Kyle Lawson, principal cornet of Wellington Brass who recently returned from the UK where is was the principal of Brighouse and Rastrick Band.

The National Youth Brass Band is an eclectic mix of talented young New Zealanders up to age 22, who perform to an amazingly high standard. They are chosen by audition from applicants all over New Zealand. Their enthusiasm is infectious, making the performance an inspiring and musically satisfying experience.
