The Auckland Branch of the New Zealand Society of Authors presents Turning the Page: Writers' Workshops and Gala Dinner.

Open to anyone with a passion for writing, regardless of your skill or experience. Meet other writers, hear from experts in their fields and leave renewed in your craft.

Please note there are three different venues for the events.

Friday 6pm 25 May registration event at AUT Master of Creative Writing Room, 1211, Floor 12, AUT Building corner of Wakefield and Queen Streets.

Wine and nibbles provided. The 2018 Graeme Lay Short Story Competition winner will also be announced. Includes a welcome from NZSA President, Siobhan Harvey, and guest speaker, publishing powerhouse Nicola Leggett.

Saturday 1-5pm 26 May Writers' Workshops at Ellen Melville Centre, 1 Freyberg Place, Auckland CBD.

Enjoy an afternoon of stimulating and informative workshops, presentations and panel discussions. See flyer for details. Choose up to three workshops from a choice of nine.

- 1-2pm Diversity in Literature Panel or Poetry Workshop or Crafting Compelling Memoir
- 2:15-3:15pm: Successful Non-fiction or The Business of Writing or The Craft of Writing Children's Books
- 3:45-4.45pm: Pitch Perfect or The Art of the Novel or Crime Fiction Today:Beyond Whodunnit

7pm 26 May Gala Dinner at Wine Chambers.

Taking place in an elegant restaurant in one of Auckland’s historic buildings, there will be a set three course menu (with vegetarian and vegan options) and a complimentary glass of wine for all diners.

MC: Bernard Brown, NZSA President of Honour.

Guest speaker: Steve Braunias -noted satirist, writer, columnist and publisher.
Guest poet: Courtney Sina Meredith - internationally acclaimed poet, playwright, fiction writer.

All workshops have restricted numbers and will fill up so book early!

$20 for a single workshop, and $50 for 3 workshops. $75 dinner.
