Ngā Pae ō Hina is an installation of artworks by painter Natasha Keating and weaver Bethany Matai Edmunds. The exhibition looks deeply into Hine Te Iwaiwa and her relationship to the moon.

The many faces of Marama talk to the tracking of time and seasons, the pushing and pulling of tides and energies that align us with her ancestral teachings.

In these two sessions we invite mothers to join us with their babies for an intimate tour of Ngā Pae ō Hina; an experience rare for mothers with young babies. Māmā can enjoy some down time to dig deep into the new works that use metaphor to refer to concepts of dawn, dusk and female ancestry.

Their pēpi can create artworks of their own or snooze in our māmā & pēpi chill out area. The kōrero takes approximately one hour with some light kai and kōrero at the end for māmā to connect and spark conversation.

This is a wheelchair, pushchair and breastfeeding friendly kaupapa. There will be someone there to lead the tour and support mums with their babies but please bring your pram/car seat to help with holding infants if they fall asleep.

Please book on the Auckland Libraries website - numbers are strictly limited!
