This intimate club-styled event is a fundraiser for the Northcote College Music Department. The night will showcase three outstanding ensembles and guest soloists in a low-lit, elbow bumping, goatee scratching, casual setting.

The three ensembles featured on this night are:

- The Northcote College Jazz and R'n'B Band - Northcote College has a history steeped in success within NZ Jazz festivals and competitions. They have travelled extensively abroad including 5 trips to perform at the Monterey Jazz Festival. This year they will be performing some well know Jazz and R'n'B classics.

- The ITS - The itinerant teachers of Northcote College will form a quintet delivering top-notch Jazz. They are all acclaimed professionals so expect some outstanding jazz.

They are:

- Brian Smith -Tenor Saxophone (Nucleus, Maynard Ferguson, and list goes on...also well known for his number one album 'Moonlight Sax'.
- Julie Mason - Piano - She has performed as jazz pianist/vocalist at Jazz Festivals and Clubs throughout Australasia, as well as Europe, Asia, The USA)
- Jonothan Tan - Trombone - (Katchafire, Sons of Zion, Tahuna Breaks, Auckland Jazz Orchestra, Rodger Fox Big Band, Avalanche City (at the VNZMA 2011), Aaradhna, Yebiisu, Batucada Sound Machine, and dDub).
- Alberto Santarelli - Double Bass - (Ray Charles, Bob Berg, Placido Domingo, Bob Minzter)
- Barry Young - One of Auckland's most respected drum educators and has been a professional musician for over 40 years.

* The Northcote College Alumni Big Band - This is a band made up of ex-Northcote College students many of whom have gone on to make large waves in the NZ and International music scene. They will be led by Deece Guisinger (former HOD of Music at Northcote College for 28 years) and will be performing challenging contemporary big band repertoire. There will also be some very special guests joining us!

Please note this is a licensed event and all students under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/caregiver. No Northcote College students will be served alcohol under any circumstances, regardless of age.

General Admission is $20 and is by pre-sale only at this stage.
