Drop-in Workshop: Kohl Tyler-Dunshea

Kohl Tyler-Dunshea is an Auckland-based artist who works with a variety of mediums, but is particularly known for her watercolour paintings.

In 2017, she was the first place recipient of the Estuary Art and Ecology Awards, and also collaborated with footwear company Merchant1948 to produce Kohl for Isabella Anselmi, a line of footwear which showcases exclusive watercolour textile designs. Join Kohl to create a small botanical drawing to place within the Learning Centre Gallery exhibition.

Koha welcome.

Workshop: Isobel Thom

Join Isobel Thom and view her incredible geometric clay vessels currently exhibited here in the exhibition Pocket Histories. Thom’s ceramic objects and forms connect with natural ecological systems, regenerative design and permaculture. She will demonstrate how to make a geometric clay vessel/planter form using thin slabs of leather hard paper clay.

You will be able to have a go making your own clay rectangular vessel using unfired paper clay which we will donate to the ever growing exhibition in the Learning Centre Gallery instigated by Kerry Ann Lee. During the session we will discuss the versatility and potential of clay as a media and what inspires/drives Isobel to create such unique work.

Koha welcome.
