An annual fundraiser for the Pukaha Mount Bruce National Wildlife Centre, this two-day, self-drive garden tour will feature beautiful and unique gardens from the south and central Wairarapa. This year, Masterton based financial advice firm RIVAL Wealth is proudly supporting the 2018 garden tour as a sponsor.

Now into its eighth year, the Pukaha Wairarapa Garden Tour is a well-established event that offers a variety of gardens to suit visitors of all ages.

The 2018 tour will include a few old favourites and some newbies that haven't been open to the public before.

There'll be something for everyone, so you can pick your gardens and choose your route according to whatever tickles your gardening fancy.

There will be grand country estates, delightful cottage gardens, a flower farm as well as sustainable edible gardens.

Dotted along the tour, and available at some of the larger gardens will be locally sourced and home-made refreshments. You can also pre-order picnics, provided by Greytown's Prodigal Daughter. These include cured meats, breads, pickles, olives and Drunken Nanny cheese. Picnics can be ordered when you buy your garden tour ticket and collected between noon and 3 pm at selected gardens during the tour weekend.

Your essential tour guide - the map - will be available in two formats. Purchase a printed copy with your garden tour ticket, and receive it in your letterbox late October or download a free link from the garden tour website (available late October).

Cash sales of plants, ceramics, and garden tour souvenirs will be available.

Early bird tickets have sold out. General sales are now available. Like and follow the Pukaha Wairarapa Garden Tour on Facebook and Instagram.

The event goes ahead rain or shine. As a fundraiser, monies raised will go towards forest restoration at Pukaha Mount Bruce.
