From the very beginning when her grandfather, a British Secret Agent, and her father aged 13 years rode with T.E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) into Turkey during WWI, the author takes you on a whirlwind journey through her life which began in a small country town of NZ just before WWII, meeting her husband of Scottish descent from the city of Dunedin, their shared love of the great National Parks for alpine walking, and rearing a family at Lake Taupō, a volcanic region.

Their travel business came with a contract to manage the Taupo National Airport, which they did for almost 30 years, also acting as International Tour Escorts. An accomplished pianist and performing artist, Sonya taught at the local Taupō colleges where she was Director for 17 major stage musical productions, composing three of them.
