Where: The Fringe Bar, 26 Allen Street, Wellington

Restrictions: All Ages

Ticket Information:

  • Admission: Free

Welcome to September's Poetry at the Fringe. We start with our Open Mic session, so if you'd like to take part, make sure you arrive before 4 to get your name on the board. That runs from 4 to 4.45ish, then after a short break we welcome our featured guests.

First is musician Chris Prosser. Chris has been writing violin music and performing since the 1970s in both the UK and NZ. He performed at this year's Fringe Festival in Wellington. On Sunday he will play from his recent collection, 'Jiggery-Pokery', and will also debut a piece specially written for the occasion.

We follow that with our guest poet, Tim Jones. Tim will read work from his latest collection, New Sea Land, interwoven with other poems both old and new, to tell a story about climate change, his father, himself, and the sea. And he asks the question: what will the future look like for all of us who live so close to water?
