Come along to the Memorial Hall this Friday (9 March) between 10am and 2pm and visit the Red Cross Expo. It's a great opportunity to see for yourself what Red Cross do for our community and to talk with some of the organisations they work closely with such as Safer CHB, Fire & Emergency NZ and Civil Defence.

There will be displays Community Transport, Curtain Bank, First Aid Training, Disaster Welfare Team, International Humanitarian Law, membership information and more.

Penny Mason and Lia Jugo will be speaking about their experiences within Red Cross from 12pm.

Penny is a past President of New Zealand Red Cross but her involvement started in 1980 in Waipukurau.

Penny has overseen the largest disaster appeal in New Zealand’s history – The NZ Red Cross Christchurch Earthquake Appeal and has travelled extensively, including visiting the Maldives after the Boxing Day tsunami in Asia.

Lia is currently the Community Trainer for NZ Red Cross, Hawke’s Bay and is responsible for delivering many of the organisation’s Community Programmes.
