African American Journalist and Speaker, Victoria Gaither, presents Slavery in America: Past, Present, and Politics, a talk about how slavery started in the then British Colonies now America.

What the journey was like for slaves crossing on cargo slave ships through the middle passage, what happened to slaves once they arrived in America and how the system of slavery broke and destroyed generations of African American families today.

Victoria will show pictures of her own family and why the state of Virginia was critical to her family and slaves in America. This is her third time presenting this topic. Last part of the talk, will focus on the state of affairs for African Americans today. Stay for afternoon tea.
