If you’ve seen Rik before then you’ll be there. If you’ve not seen them before then you have our deepest sympathies - but here is your chance to correct this grave injustice bestowed upon you! Come - run your heart through the mind of RikTheMost and feel something goddamnit!!!

There will be a limited open mic section available at the start of the night - because sharing is important! Then Rik will perform an extended set of their unique poetry.

Tickets available at Eventfinda or on the door.

Currently on tour with the Wandering Circus, Rik is super pleased to be able to do this one-off show as they pass through Christchurch. They will also be teaching a poetry workshop at the Ok Community Arts Cottage on 2nd December - LINK COMING! Learn some of the techniques Rik uses to generate ideas for their work - “What to write about when you don’t know what to write about.”

RikTheMost is a truly powerful, internationally acclaimed, prolifically travelling, queer, non-binary, polyamorous, vegan spoken word artist, who spends most of their spare time making homophobes feel uncomfortable.

They have been commissioned by the BBC, performed at the Royal Albert Hall, represented the Australian National Poetry Slam Team in America, had their work exhibited as far afield as Finland, hosted numerous festivals in the UK, are Wellington's 2017 Regional Slam Champion and ranked 2nd at the NZ National Finals, for the past two years in a row.

In a time where we barely have a moment to cross reference-check a google search for the latest news story, Rik’s work provides breathing space for nuance to be truly examined. Their poetry is philosophical, political, challenging, funny (at times), emotional (at others) and, as an ex-breakdancer and keen juggler, (always) embellished with interesting rhythms and complex word play!
