The One initiative will be hosting a discussion led by Megan Williams, sustainability focal point for the Tourism Industry Aotearoa (TIA) for those in the tourism sector to learn more about the New Zealand Tourism Sustainability Commitment. Launched on 14 November 2017 by TIA, the New Zealand Tourism Sustainability Commitment aims to see every New Zealand tourism business committed to sustainability by 2025 - the Vision is Leading the World in Sustainable Tourism. If you are involved in tourism as a business owner, operator or employee, this workshop is for you.

This interactive session will get you fired up about making a difference in your local environment and with your community. You will get a better understanding of the commitment– and why it’s important for our industry. We’ll then look at actions that you can take to make a positive change. You’ll come away with loads of ideas for practical implementation of the sustainability commitment in the areas of economic, visitor, host community and environmental sustainability.
