This workshop will teach people how to make little tāniko badges on pins - reflecting Mata Aho’s show at the Dowse on a miniature scale. The materials will be natural fibre (hemp, muka) and embroidery thread.

Numbers are open, people can be free to come and go as they please. Suitable for all ages.

About the artist:
Terri Te Tau is member of Mata Aho, a collective of four Maori artists (Erena Baker, Sarah Hudson, Bridget Reweti, Terri Te Tau). They have an exhibition on at The Dowse during the Hutt Winter Festival, Can Tame Anything, 4 August – 25 November.

Mata Aho represented New Zealand alongside the late Ralph Hotere and Christchurch artist Nathan Pohio at documenta 14 – one of the world's largest and most highly-regarded contemporary art exhibitions – an event considered to be the "olympics for art".
