Te Whiti Riser Night Walk

Where: Te Whiti Park, Whites Line East, Waiwhetu, Lower Hutt, Wellington Region

Restrictions: All Ages

Ticket Information:

  • Admission: Free

Listed by: Hutt City Council

Bring your family out for an evening of adventure. Explore Te Whiti Riser in twilight and after dark. See the sun set over the harbour, enjoy hot chocolate and return through stunning, spot-lit New Zealand bush. BYO torch, koha sausage sizzle at the finish raising funds for Te Omanga Hospice

Start the walk up anytime from 6pm onwards. It's approximately an hour to the top at a moderate pace, but remember it may take longer as there's a lot of sights to see! Sunset is at 6.30, so you'll go up as the sun sets and come down at dusk/after nightfall. There are lights and decorations on trail, but you'll need your own torch! A huge thanks to Cigna New Zealand for helping #makelifebeautiful by supporting this event.

We want you to be safe, so the last participants to get to the top of the trail will arrive there at 8.15pm. We expect all participants to be off the trail by 9.15pm, so be aware that if you start late you may not have time to reach the top.

There will be a lot of people, children, and lights, so we encourage dogs to check out the Hikoi for HUHA at on Sunday 14 October instead. That's an evening event especially for dogs and dog-people.

We'll be going ahead if it's a bit drizzly, but if a storm comes in this event will be postponed to Friday 5 October
