The Big Dutch Day Out is a celebration of our 15th birthday, plus the coronation and birthday of the Dutch King, and of course, everything Dutch.

We will have our food tent offering Dutch favourites. Traditional Dutch games will be set up and ready to play.

Free face painting for the kids.

Take a tour of the upper levels of de Molen and learn about our full scale operational stone flour mill. Buy your favourite Dutch goodies including drop, croquettes and yummy imported Dutch cheeses + more from The Dutch Market situated inside de Molen.

Enjoy a coffee and a bite to eat from one of our cafes, The Dutch Oven or Millside.

Last year we hosted a dress in orange competition, and we loved it so much we're doing it again. Go all out in orange! There will be prizes for the best orange dressed adult and child. Judging will take place at 1pm in front of the windmill.

We've brought the kids drawing competition back this year too. Last year we had so many wonderful entries and the kids really enjoyed participating. This year we have invited local schools and early childcare to participate. The theme is to create a poster advertising Foxton as a tourist destination, including de Molen of course!

We will have the winning entries on display on The Big Dutch Day Out.

The Dutch organ will be with us again this year, weather permitting. Come along and listen to some old Dutch favourites while enjoying the festivities.

With the completion of Te Awahou Riverside Cultural Park, there's even more activities available for your enjoyment and discovery this year.

Visit Oranjehof Dutch Connection Centre and discover your Dutch connections exploring this awesome Dutch museum.
