A dedicated drum festival set in lush bush beside the Okuti River on Banks Peninsula.
Includes cultural drum groups from around new Zealand performing rhythms from Africa, Asia, the Middle East & South America plus drum and dance workshops and evening camp-fire tribal drumming.
Featuring: Takumi Japanese Drum Group, Doug Brush, Robert Koffie, Chitongo, Ra McCostie and many more.
New this year - A Friday night workshop and performance jam. Come and set up Friday afternoon ready for a Friday evening intimate workshop. Not to be missed for all the dedicated drummers.
The program will be a moving progression of concerts with different groups performing in unique locations in the bush, beside the river, in the shade of the walnut trees and at the local pub.
Riverside camping and native bush exploring & playground ensures the weekend can be enjoyed by the whole family. Kids under 10 free accompanied by adults.
Limited to only 100 tickets/day. Online booking advisable but possible gate sales on the day. $25 Cash only, no credit card/eftpos facilities. Kids over 10 years old $10.
The campground is a back to basics venue with eco dry loos and limited food or coffee stalls. Pick up some supplies at The Little River Diner, or cafe. Come prepared for all weather, however the main stage area is under two old walnut trees which provide shade and shelter.
