Take a trip down memory lane at the launch of “The Fruits of our labours” the fully illustrated, two-volume set chronicling the development of Chinese Fruiterers in New Zealand.

Written by Ruth Lam, Beverly Lowe, Helen Wong, Michael Wong and Carolyn King, these books combine historical research and statistics with the personal stories and photographs of Chinese fruit shop families.

Authors Ruth Lam and Beverly Low will share some of these stories and talk about the journey of this project from inception to publication at Rotorua Library. Following the talk, copies of the new books will be available for viewing and for purchase.

All are welcome to come along and hear about this fascinating look back at part of New Zealand’s history.

Booking: No booking required.
