Technology is changing our lives. Changing the way we work – how we work, where we work, what we work on and who does it. Artificial Intelligence and machine learning, in particular, are set to have a profound impact on society, on our economic potential, and on our human potential.

What does this mean for 'C-Suite' execs, for business owners, entrepreneurs, policy makers and government? People are relying on us for their livelihoods, to direct our companies and countries in a responsible and sustainable way forward. How do we be pro-active about the future of work? How do we get ahead of the pace to ensure a future where we are thriving, not just barely surviving?

This Masterclass will examine how AI will impact the future of work and what skills are necessary to foster and promote in order to establish companies that can scale and have an impact in this new environment. Dr Ming will also touch on the different ways that innovation can fail and advise on how meaningful change can be achieved. In New Zealand, we must be forward-thinking about how we work, how we build and grow our workforce, and how AI can support our health and wellbeing. Within our companies and communities, we need to choose that future now.

This is an interactive 3 hour Masterclass limited to 30 attendees. In order to maximise the value from this masterclass, we will provide some supplementary reading and ask a couple of questions in the registration process so that we can better understand any specific issues and concerns that you would like to see covered during the masterclass.

Tea, Coffee and Morning Tea will be provided.

Theoretical neuroscientist, entrepreneur, author and Mad Scientist Dr Vivienne Ming is all about ‘mashing up’ artificial intelligence, human behaviour, neuroscience and economics to augment humans and “build better people”. Named one of 10 Women to Watch in Tech by Inc. Magazine, Dr Ming co-founded Socos Labs, her fifth company, an independent think tank exploring the future of human potential. Socos Labs combines machine learning, cognitive neuroscience, and economics to maximize life outcomes in education and the workplace; uniting creative experts to expand their impact on global policy issues, both inside companies and throughout our communities. Previously, Vivienne was a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley's Redwood Center for Theoretical Neuroscience, pursuing her research in cognitive neuroprosthetics. In her free time, Vivienne has invented AI systems to help treat her diabetic son, predict manic episodes in bipolar sufferers weeks in advance, and reunited orphan refugees with extended family members. She sits on boards of numerous companies and non-profits including StartOut, The Palm Center, Cornerstone Capital, Platypus Institute, Shiftgig, Zoic Capital, and SmartStones. Dr Ming also speaks frequently on her AI-driven research into inclusion and gender in business.
