The Canterbury Branch of the New Zealand Geographical Society is holding its yearly Presidential Address prior to its AGM.

This year, Dr Jillian Frater will talk about her research on cycling behaviour. In countries such as the Netherlands and Switzerland, a much smaller percentage of trips are taken by automobile (40-50%) and a greater percentage of trips are taken by bike, walking and public transit, than in New Zealand.
