This display explores some of the history surrounding the Treaty of Waitangi, and Treaty settlement process here in Auckland.

The Treaty was signed in 1840 by representatives of the British Crown and more than 500 Māori rangatira (chiefs).

It symbolises the unique relationship between the peoples of this nation a relationship that continues to evolve today.

This exhibit supplements the Treaty Trail on display in the ground-floor galleries until December.
