When it comes to all things Glass, Kathryn Wightman, award winning glass artist and lecturer in Glass and Visual Arts at UCOL’s School of Creative Industries, is an expert.

Kathryn utilizes glass to mimic textile surfaces, which aim to challenge the viewer's sense of reality. Hybrid decorative patterns are deconstructed to create multiple layered compositions. Each layer is stacked to add depth, allowing patterned forms to grow from the surface of the glass.

If you have the creative flair or an interest in glass making, you and a guest are warmly invited to hear from Kathryn as she shares her journey of glass practice and the ideas behind her work as part of UCOL’s Public Lecture Series.

5pm: Arrive for drinks and nibbles
5:20pm: Mihi/Welcome
5:30pm: Kathryn Wightman begins
6:15 - 6:30pm: Questions and networking

We have also combined this public lecture series with our Open Evening so you'll get the opportunity to learn more about UCOL's programme offerings, student life and life after UCOL.
