A delightful if peculiar story of the daily life in “Llareggub” (read it backwards), a small Welsh town by the sea. Meet blind Captain Cat, Mog Edwards and his sweetheart Miss Price, Sinbad Sailors, Dai Bread, Polly Garter, Nogood Boyo, Lord Cut-Glass and many others. Walk along Coronation Street, Cockle Row and Donkey Street, down to the little fishing harbour and back to Milk Wood as Dylan Thomas explores their lives, hopes and thoughts in the dreams of a night and the rhythm of a day.

Both a play and a poem, Under Milk Wood was written from the heart, it offers an unforgettable journey into the roots of our common tongue and the soul of Wales. From dark and sombre to hilarious and cynical, it showcases Thomas’ sharp wit and wonderful mischievous use of language.

Our production of this much loved classic will feature an extraordinary video landscape, a beautifully composed soundtrack from Gareth Farr.

“The voices of Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood rise and fall, crashing into each other like waves under a milky moon, their sweet prose an effervescence of sounds and syllables to intoxicate the soul.”
