On the 6th of February 1840, the Treaty of Waitangi was signed by Rangatira Māori and representatives of the Crown.

This year on the 178th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty, in conjunction with Auckland Council, Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei will celebrate the occasion with a fun and informative day out at Okahu Bay, Ōrākei.

This free community event will feature fantastic local musicians live on the main stage. Come along and join us for this family friendly event that celebrates 2018 New Zealand.

As a family friendly event, 2018 Waitangi Day celebrations at Okahu Bay will be strictly smoke, drug and alcohol-free, with a zero waste focus. Bring along the whole whānau to enjoy a range of delicious food stalls, an arts and crafts lane, interactive games and activities for kids, and a mobile Treaty exhibition from Auckland Museum.

Bring a picnic blanket along and set yourself up in front of the stage, and enjoy a quintessential Aotearoa summer’s day.

Parking will be available on the day for a small fee. Keep an eye out for our marshalls onsite.

The first act is on stage at 11:00am, so come along early to score yourself an awesome spot. We have some amazing acts, all to be revealed soon. See you there!

Presented by: Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei in conjunction with Auckland Council
