Welly Bomb Comp

Come make a splash on the waterfront at the second annual Welly Bomb Comp! Head down to Wellington's iconic jump platform to show off your best manus, cheer on your friends, and compete for prizes and the title of Welly Bomb King/Queen.

The event is open to the public and will feature an open dive period (anyone is welcome to join the action) and a judged competition for those wishing to compete. Bust out your togs—we want this to be the biggest pool party of the summer, and everyone is welcome to jump in. There will be music and heaps of giveaways, just show up ready to have fun.

One of New Zealand's favourite past times, 'bombing' is the art of diving into the water with as much splash and style as possible. If you visit Wellington's waterfront on any sunny day, you'll hear the cheers and shouts of the crowd gathered around the jump platform. The Welly Bomb Comp is a chance to celebrate this classic kiwi activity.
