Porirua city centre is proud to host a Women's Suffrage 125 panel discussion event - commemorating New Zealand becoming the first self-governing country in the world to give women the right to vote in general elections a 125 years ago.

The panel is made up of some amazing and inspirational women who've made waves in furthering the rights of women through their artistry and work.

- Migoto Eria-Rowell (Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāi Tuhoe, Ngāti Raukawa and Te Aitanga-a-Hauiti) - Manager Iwi Development for National Services Te Paerangi
- Miriama Grace-Smith Artist (Ngāti Hau, Ngāti Maniapoto, Ngāti Toarangatira and Ngāti Porou) - Artist
- Sue Prescott - fashion designer, researcher and academic

Discussions will be around how we can build on our successes and lessons learnt over time, the challenges we face today, fashion activism, and what we can do to ensure a promising future for all New Zealand women.

Following the panel discussion, we'll treat you with a fashion parade featuring some of Porirua's local city centre fashion retailers.
