The WoodCraft Gallery showcases and sells the artworks of about 46 wood artists and other crafters sourced both locally and from through out New Zealand.

Individually worked sculptural pieces, hand carved by local artist Andrew Lyons. Lathe turned kitchen wears in rimu, matai and walnut by Chch crafter Tom Pearse. Stunning hollow vessel urns, bowls and platters by Jim and Judy Ross from the North Island using rimu, beech and kaouri. To name but a few artisans. Perfect as art pieces or special gifts.

We showcase clocks, boxes, bowls, kitchen utensils, toys, puzzles, albums, vases and our own line of locally made Christmas decorations, rose windows (xmas tree ornaments, magnets and multiple sizes to hang on the wall or as coasters) and small rimu pendant replicas of both of Chch's beloved Cathedrals.

The woods used are predominantly NZ natives but some artists use fruit woods and exotics that have been grown here since settler times. Hand carved, lathe turned ,band sawn and laser cut to name but a few techniques used.

The WoodCraft Gallery has been established on The Boulevard since moving out of our Arts Center gallery shop due to the earth quakes of 2011. It had been trading there for 26 years.

We also have on display hand carved New Zealand Jade (green stone) work by a family in Greymouth on The West coast of the South Island.
