Come along to view the history of the 100th Anniversary of the first airmail delivery within New Zealand which was from Auckland to Dargaville. This took place on 16th December 1919.
Located centrally in Dargaville, and by the post office, the presentation showcases a float plane replica made by the Dargaville Menz Shed, which will also appear in the Lions Christmas Parade this Saturday - 7th December 2019.
This is a collaboration between: the Dargaville Community Development Board, Northern Wairoa Genealogy Society, the Northern Wairoa Boat Club, Dargaville Museum, Dargaville Menz Shed, Northern Wairoa Aero Club, PGG Wrightsons, Dave Dreadon & Artists, Miriam and Steve Guthrie and Winsome Cutts.
