APO principal violist Robert Ashworth is joined by pianist Sherry Grant presenting the following programme in the first Auckland concert of the 6-concert series in memory of APO founding member John Ure who recently passed away, as well as commemorating the 100 years journey the human race has been through since the year after the end of WWI.
This same programme is performed in Auckland at St George’s Church in Takapuna on 27 Oct 2019. Included in this programme will be world premiere of David Hamilton’s “Wairere” (Waterfall) composed in July 2019 and Chris Artley’s “An Anzac Reflection” composed in April 2019 (world premiere in May 2019) to compliment the three viola sonatas all composed in 1919 (Clarke/Hindemith/Bloch).
