Spend a weekend exploring beautiful and unique gardens in Northern Wairarapa. This two-day self-drive garden tour is a rare chance to visit selected private gardens opening to support Pūkaha's annual fundraiser - the Pūkaha Wairarapa Garden Tour.
Sure to delight gardeners of all ages, we’re excited to be bringing you some firm favourites as well as plenty of new gardens that haven't been on the tour before.
The 2019 tour will showcase gardens for flower lovers, gardens for small spaces, rhododendrons-a-plenty, historic homestead gardens, an urban garden of rooms to explore and clever ways to grow produce sustainably. With loads of variety, there'll be something to suit gardeners of all ages. A ticket gets you entry into more than a dozen private gardens.
New to the 2019 tour, enjoy three Masterton collaborations:
* a guided tour around the Queen Elizabeth Park's historic arboreta
* Rathkeale School's eco-trail, Alfred Buxton designed gardens and annual Fete (Saturday only)
* ConArt Gallery & studio - garden-inspired art and sculpture available to buy direct from Wairarapa artists
Pick your gardens and choose your route according to whatever tickles your gardening fancy.
Locally sourced and home-made refreshments will be available in selected gardens, or BYO picnic.
Children under the age of 14yrs have free entry with a ticketed adult. Please leave pets at home.
Cash sales of plants, garden pots and gardening treats will be on offer.
Earlybird tickets sold out quickly. General sales are still available.
Your garden tour ticket also gains you free entry to Pūkaha - valid until 31 Dec 2019.*
