A brilliant night of fine wine and delicious food served in an atmosphere that will whisk you back four hundred years to Shakespeare's time, including live performances from fully-costumed musicians and actors from the legendary Pop-up Globe company.
Banquets were a vital part of Shakespearean society, particularly those held in the depths of winter, where the dark nights were warmed up with steaming dishes of delicious provender. The aristocracy and gentry would mingle, enjoying entertainment from their servants. In the case of King James I, these servants included Shakespeare's own acting company, the King's Men, who regularly performed at court as part of the English monarchy's extensive range of entertainments.
Now you can live like a Lord or Lady for a night, and enjoy a special banquet menu that takes you on a journey through the England of Shakespeare's day, including dishes lovingly reconstructed from menus of the time including:
Rustic handcrafted bread
Old English pork ribs smoked with ale and thyme
Baked leg of ham with brown sugar and English mustard
Rare sirloin of Angus grain fed beef with Yorkshire pudding and horseradish
Ragout of winter vegetables with sage and mead
Chicken drumsticks cooked in cider
Baby new potatoes with parsley butter
And for dessert:
Eton mess with strawberry and meringue

A cash bar will be running that includes a delicious line-up from the Kings Series range of premium wines.
While you enjoy the banquet, prepare to be serenaded by musicians and actors from the multi-award-winning Pop-up Globe Theatre Company, who will perform songs and dances from Shakespeare's plays throughout the evening to create an unforgettable and romantic atmosphere.
