“A Night Before Christmas” returns in 2019 and will be the perfect way to welcome in Christmas. The Bay’s biggest free Christmas party will celebrate 23 years of Christmas joy and Festive fun.

Held just a few days before Christmas, you can expect over 10,000 people to enjoy a festive variety of live music, dance, carols, and a massive fireworks display – and it’s all free. Bethlehem Baptist Church will again bring you an amazing array of entertainers providing over 4 hours of family friendly fun. There will also be some incredible giveaways during the evening sponsored by The Bethlehem Town Centre.

This year we welcome back a crowd favourite with our headline act - Late 80's Mercedes. This 10 piece swing-funk-rock band will be back in 2019 with all of our favourite covers for the audience to sing and dance to. As well as a range of festive tunes, Late 80's Mercedes will bring their unique, high energy enthusiasm to the A Night Before Christmas stage.

Mark the date and plan your Bethlehem Christmas gathering. Take a picnic dinner, grab a bite from our amazing food trucks, take a photo at our photo booth, or maybe a selfie with one of our roving Christmas characters, and enjoy the picturesque grounds of the Bethlehem College Sports Fields.

You won’t want to miss this unique opportunity to gather with friends, family, work-mates and neighbours to celebrate the magic of Christmas under the star-studded skies of New Zealand’s very own Bethlehem, the heart of the Christmas story.

With a wet weather date planned for Sunday 22nd December, the weekend before Christmas 2019 will have your celebrations covered.

Bethlehem - the home of Christmas.
