Following sold out seasons of Jacinda and Burn Her, Sam Brooks’ Fringe Festival offering is a challenge:
To write a new monologue every night, for a different actress, in front of an audience.
The Spinoff’s Sam Brooks (Winner of the 2016 Bruce Mason Playwriting Award, “Auckland’s Most Exciting Playwright” - Metro Magazine, Winner of Excellence for Overall Production for Burn Her), will have a conversation with a mystery actress, which will inspire a monologue to be performed that very night.
Off the back of two sold out seasons of New Zealand focused political drama, Brooks partakes in his most daring project yet. Before the audience’s eyes they will experience the challenge, the thrill, and the inspiration that can lead to really great writing, or really terrible writing.
Actressexual will see Brooks go toe-to-toe with some of New Zealand's finest and most acclaimed actresses - to see if he can write them a role worthy of their talents.
