Want to explore abstraction? Want to develop your creative painting skills? Build your confidence to use paint as an extension of your own personal creative thinking
in this seven week course we will discuss the work of the abstract expressionist and contemporary abstract painters and how and why they made their paintings. You will explore your own expressions, what you think, feel and imagine. Gain the confidence to be bold using watercolour, acrylics and/or gouache.
Course outline:
- What is abstraction?
- Materials and means
- Process and procedure
- Painting ideas or media suggesting ideas
- Development of an abstract piece
- Development of individual students' painting
Who should attend:
You've never ever painted before, but you're curious, maybe even a bit scared. you don't have a clue where to begin. This one painting class will be perfect for you! You'll be immersed in your creativity and learn exactly how to create beautifully textured paintings in no time.
No more fear of the unknown. Or maybe you paint 'a little' from time to time. You love it, but you never seem to have the time to learn 'properly'. Painting seems to be an indulgence, where's the time for it?
