In recent decades, society has seen a resurgence in a range of ancient ethical systems: Epicureans, Stoics, Cynics and more. This course will cover five distinct moral/ethical systems, their ancient context, their evolution over the millennia, and their modern versions. We will also reflect on some more modern ethical systems and how they compare to and differ from their ancient predecessors.
