Antarctic Family Day

Got questions about Antarctica? Drop in to our free family-friendly Antarctic information day and have all your questions answered by Antarctic scientists and other experts. We'll have lots of hands-on activities as well as short information sessions throughout the day.

Activities include putting up a real polar tent, trying on real Antarctic clothing, reading climate from a seafloor sediment core, and looking at a real dessicated penguin. We'll have talks showing what it's like to dive under the ice, what it's like to live in an Antarctic field camp, and the role that Antarctica plays in global climate.

Come along, bring your questions about Antarctica and our changing climate, and engage one-on-one with some of New Zealand's high profile Antarcticans. Open to all.
