The Pencil Room provides fine art tuition for children from five to fifteen years of age in term by term after-school classes.

Each class focuses on fostering creative thinking and practical techniques within the relevant stage of artistic development. Classes are taught in a welcoming learning environment with a maximum of ten students to cater for individual attention and engagement from tutors.

Art Juniors - 5-7 years
Thursdays 3.30pm - 5.00pm, 1st August - 19th September (8 weeks), $200.00.
Tutor: Gretchen Buwalda (Dip.Teaching, Dip.Creativity)

This introductory art class provides your child with a foundation to explore their innate creativity in a supportive environment. Gretchen will introduce a number of different art mediums and take students through projects aimed at developing creative thinking that will carry over to other areas of your child’s life.

Let's Get Creative - 8 - 11 years
Mondays 3.30pm - 5.00pm, 22nd July - 9th September (8 weeks), $200.00
Tutor: Emily Armstrong (MA&D, BMA)

This is a weekly art class that provides children with technical art skills to explore their creativity, while encouraging originality and celebration of their own unique style. We work in a number of different art mediums and practice both traditional art skills and working from the imagination.

Teen's Art Club - 11-15 Years
Wednesdays 3.45pm - 5.15pm, 31st July - 18th September (8 weeks), $200.00
Tutor: Emily Armstrong (MA&D, BMA)

A weekly class for 11-15 year olds wanting to improve their practical drawing and painting skills and develop their own style. These classes compliment high-school art studies, but also give students an opportunity to pursue their own artistic interests for the second half of the course. The 8 weeks are broken into the following areas: Improving Drawing (2 weeks), Painting Techniques (2 weeks), Character Design (2 weeks), Individual Project (2 weeks).
